Hello. My name is Damon.
I'm a recording artist and private instructor in San Diego, CA / Scottsdale, AZ
I am the founder of Be Heard Lessons.
For more than 13 years, Be Heard Lessons has provided private 1-on-1 music training for artists, songwriters, producers, and engineers - guiding them to create and improve their own music.
After working privately with almost 300 people - from across 38 states and several different countries, I have helped people in 13 different DAWs, and assisted in every part of the song creation process:
songwriting, composing, recording, producing, mixing, mastering, licensing, promotion, performance, remixing, merchandising.
As an inevitable consequence of being involved in all of these facets for so long - the work has naturally evolved. Gradually - as I spent more and more time with long-running students, the focus began shifting from technical mastery and creative competence into artistic development, bigger projects, and more ambitious pursuits. This shift was mirrored in the interactions - with longer & more-frequent sessions.
Now, the training has formally transitioned to meet that demand and greater challenges - short-term, focused work for clients who want clearer direction, stronger execution, and more committed support than casual hourly lessons can usually provide.
That may involve becoming more confident with your tools, strengthening the skills behind the work, or getting clearer about the decisions, habits, and mindset required to finish stronger music.
The format has changed. The core purpose has not: helping serious creators move their work forward with direct private guidance.

The work usually falls into three connected areas:
I continue to work with people at all levels.
Sometimes I help people become more familiar and comfortable with their TOOLSET.
Other times I help more experienced people expand and develop mastery over their SKILLSET.
And for a select few, we work together to tap into and strengthen their MINDSET.
Their history and abilities don't determine my willingness to assist and guide them.
But as time has gone on, those who are still with me share a similar drive, dedication, and disposition.
